I'm running late today, and working on some corporate taxes (due March 15th!), so I may not be able to properly blog, but I just wanted to thank all of you who subscribed already the this blog.

Your first day subscriptions greatly exceeded my expectations, and are a terrific encouragement to keep at it. I'll remember this the next time I want to let things slide... Actually, it kind of makes me feel guilty that I don't have much for you today. But I'm thinking about a great article for tomorrow, the best personal financial advice I ever gave... or got! :-) Bob

What if We SAVED Our "Stimulus Package" Checks?

Yesterday, I gave you a little Self Scoring "Financial Discipline Quiz" about what to do with your potential "Stimulus Package" check. Today, I'm feeling a little unpatriotic for that post, even though I'm convinced that my not so subtle nudge towards reducing your debt is solid advice. But obviously, if everyone with consumer debt took that advice, there wouldn't be much "economic stimulus," now, would there? Now I'm sure that if the President or members of Congress developed a scoring system for my quiz, the methodology would be the exact opposite, with credit going only to those who SPEND their checks. The above title was the original title of yesterday's post , which later became " Social Security Decisions: Important But Not Irrevocable - You Have Much More Flexibility Than You May Think ." I actually posted it with the "Annuity" title above, but after sleeping on it overnight, I realized that yesterday's article was really about flexibility, an important issue in its own right. I have written before about flexibility. The general rule is, "Given two equally attractive decisions, always choose the one that is more "reversible," (i.e. allows you to change your mind later) Flexibilty is a key element in any personal financial decision, and retirement decisions are no exception.
